#InThisTogether

Since measures were introduced to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, all organisations have been adapting to new ways of working to comply with government advice surrounding self-isolation and social distancing.

Transport was identified by the Government early on as a key sector supporting essential key services. Delivery lorries, vans and other vehicles are vital in ensuring supplies arrive at their destination safely and on time. Drivers are doing a terrific job on the ground and business owners have been working hard to rapidly scale-up their fleets in order to cope with unprecedented demand.

That said, businesses must prioritise the safety of the individuals involved in all stages of the supply chain and there are a number of precautions that should be taken to ensure the wellbeing of employees, customers and partners.

We’ve been thinking of ways in which we can help, so in addition to donating BriteAngle LED Warning Triangles to supermarkets in our local area (to help their customers stick to the 2-metre rule),  we’re reaching out to businesses that use vehicles to transport goods from A to B to offer the BriteAngle as part of the solution.

All too often, we see delivery drivers going about their duties (unloading goods, for example) whilst members of the public are walking less than 2 metres away. We believe that the BriteAngle could be a useful aid in alerting the public to the activity, thereby helping to keep the driver and passers-by at a safe distance.

If you know of any businesses that could benefit from this added safety measure, either let us know by emailing carol@roadsafetydesign.co.uk or pass on our details.

Thanks for your support and #StaySafe.
