For many large companies, Corporate Social Responsibility plays a massive part in their everyday operations. However, that doesn’t mean that companies of all statures can neglect their duty of care to the wider society in which they operate. But what does it actually mean and why should you care?

CSR is a self-regulated business model that helps businesses become more socially accountable. A company that practices CSR means they are conscious of the impact their operation has on societal, political, economic or environmental issues outside of their business. Engaging in CSR essentially means your business is proactively contributing to factors that affect wider society in a positive way.

CSR can encompass a wide variety of actions and obligations, but the important thing to remember is that the benefits don’t just flow one way. While it does a lot of good for the community, CSR also significantly benefits businesses to help forge a stronger bond between employee and employer. CSR can also boost morale and can help both employees and employers feel more connected with the world around them.

In 2010, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released a set of voluntary standards meant to help companies implement corporate social responsibility. Unlike other ISO standards, ISO 26000 provides guidance rather than requirements because the nature of CSR is more qualitative than quantitative, and its standards cannot be certified. Instead, ISO 26000 clarifies what social responsibility is and helps organizations translate CSR principles into effective actions. The standard is aimed at all types of organizations regardless of their activity, size, or location. And, because many key stakeholders from around the world contributed to developing ISO 26000, this standard represents an international consensus.

This is where we come in, as we believe the BriteAngle LED Warning Triangle can undoubtedly help your business achieve the appropriate levels of CSR. If you have drivers out on the roads today, spare a thought for them if they have to make an unplanned stoppage on the roadside. There is a duty of care you have towards your drivers that, if they do need to stop, they need to be as safe as possible. This is exactly what the BriteAngle does. We do not leave making your drivers whereabouts known to the chance of oncoming headlights illuminating a standard warning triangle.

The BriteAngle significantly increases visibility and stopping distances compared to standard warning triangles. This is not a scare tactic or a sales pitch. This is the harsh reality that if your drivers are not provided with the best quality safety equipment, not just for when on the road but throughout their day regardless of profession, not only are you not meeting CSR standards, you’re putting your employees at avoidable risk.

Don’t leave your drivers safety to chance. Keep them seen and safe and boost your CSR levels with the BriteAngle LED Warning Triangle.
